HELLO! Thanks for visiting. I'm an award-winning writer for theater, TV, and film. I’ve been the recipient of over 12 national and international awards and fellowships in TV, film and theater, including Sundance, Nickelodeon, the Lark Theater, Asian American Theater Company, among others. As a SAG-AFTRA actress and union dancer, I’ve performed off-Broadway, Lincoln Center, on stages in the Bay Area, Bollywood and in TV and film in the US.

As a director, my short films have been screened in dozens of film festivals. As a producer, I’ve been involved in feature documentaries that focus on social justice centering marginalized voices in the LGBTQ+, Muslim, and refugee communities. I’m currently in development on my first feature.

In 2020, I founded a media startup, Avaaz Media, combining my decades-long focus on social justice, my work in tech, and experience in entertainment to increase representation of South Asian talent and stories.

I was a professional dancer who majored in religion and dance at Columbia University with dance training at Alvin Ailey School of Dance, Martha Graham, and Indian classical dance.

I’m a mamma to the furry and non-furry, and a lifelong student in Vedanta and mindfulness.
